RotoSpider gives each mold one active shape: Box, Cylinder, L shape, triangle, wedge, tapered cylinder, drawn footprint, or a prepared complex shape.
The Web App builds the L shape, triangle, wedge, tapered cylinder, and drawn footprint from measurements, and opens prepared .rotogeom or .rotoshape files. Converting a STEP file is a job for the Windows desktop; once prepared, the same exact shape is used on Windows, Linux, Mac, and in the browser.

The Web App shows RotoSpider's core job: laying out molds on a spider. Desktop adds complex-shape import, your own machine and mold data, and saved layout files. Production scheduling is a separate product, RotoScheduler.
